CEZANNE
is close at hand, as the inescapable Sainte Victoire
Mountain reminds us. To the north, the hills lead to
Manosque and the Provence so dear to Jean
Giono.. in the opposite direction the roads take us to Arles,
the Camargue and the Alpilles of which
the writers Mistral and Daudet extolled
the virtues. Gordes, the Luberon,
with its authentic villages that have no need of flattery …..Marseille,
the unruly, magnificent older brother, Cassis, a wonderful
little fishing port, dominated by the Cap Canaille,
from the top of which is a breathtaking panorama of the islands and
the bays of Cassis and La Ciotat.
PROVENCE is always a delight and an enchantment.
